As it is already a tradition in Madrid, the last weekend of November, the expected Christmas lighting will take place.
For weeks we have been seeing how Madrid begins to decorate for Christmas. Streets, shop windows, stores… All ready to kick off the most special time of the year!
And that day is just around the corner, so that locals and visitors can enjoy the brightest Madrid.
This year, after the pandemic, there is more excitement and enthusiasm than ever, for this reason we can not wait for the ignition that, as in previous years, the lighting will feature proposals from artists, designers and renowned specialists. In total, 25 streets in the capital will have new designs, including Gran Vía, Montera, Preciados, Jorge Juan and Narváez.
One of the places that will undoubtedly be one of the most visited this Christmas is the renovated Plaza de España. In it, a 1.5-ton, 18-meter fir tree has been placed to light up the night in Madrid.
As for the schedule, the lights will be on from 18:00 to 00:00, except for special dates such as December 24 and January 5, when the lights will be on until 03:00 in the morning.
On New Year’s Eve, the lights will remain on until 06:00 in the morning.
